KEYNOTES & BREAKOUT SESSIONS |
KEYNOTES
Bill Hill - Opening Ceremony - The Journey Back Inside: Caring for the Caregiver Inside
The Journey Back Inside will discuss a means of having a gentle relationship with yourself, your story and your kindness. It will include song, spoken word, burning of medicines and discussion. This gathering will utilize each participants voice (both inside and outside). It will attempt to help the participant see themselves in a kind way.
Mary Szczepanski - Healing Racism
This presentation will help to focus our healing skills and heart centered awareness on healing racism. Breaking the code of silence and becoming aware of the effects of white privilege can start the process. Many racist behaviors are unconscious. Learning about the role of trauma, microaggressions, white fragility and hidden bias can help start conversations. Self care and supporting each other can help shift behavior as we work toward creating a respectful and healthy global society where all people are valued.
Ronda MacKenzie Cooper - How to Make Meaning
Beyond Love- Facilitating congruence between intention and action
We talk about coming from a place of heart centeredness in Healing Touch, but seldom talk about how to get there. As Healing Touch practitioners, we encourage the concepts of dropping down into our heart and of getting out of the way. However, as thinking beings with histories (we all have one) and entrenched beliefs and thinking patterns (we all have them), it takes self-awareness and personal work to be able to sort through our pre-conceptions to truly come from a heart centered place when our mind may suggest otherwise.
As spiritual beings we ALL have beautiful hearts. As humans with a need to make meaning, we ALL develop thoughts about our life experiences. These thoughts feed our individual belief systems, which, in turn, influence how we perceive, feel, meaning make, and act.
In this presentation we will explore a model of how we make meaning, and how to address problematic thinking that interferes with our ability to maintain heart centeredness.
Judy Lipson and Karlta Zarley -
Finding a Pathway to the Heart of Those with Autism and Neuro-Sensitivities
Sensitives are all around us. They are a population in need of our specialized care and expertise. While they often have diagnoses or qualities of anxiety, ADHD, ASD (autism and Asperger’s), PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), or TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury), it is important to not pathologize their condition. We can help them to find more ease in their life journeys. You may have had hesitancy to engage if you have previously been put-off by the intensity of your client’s conduct, energy, or avoidant behaviors, or if you are afraid that you will do something wrong. This presentation will provide an opportunity for participants to work with their own empathic nature and skills to more effectively work with a population that is mostly misunderstood and is still inadequately addressed by western medicine and many other systems.
Judy Lipson, Licensed Professional Counselor and Educational Consultant, will help you to better understand this population and how to address them with ease and effectiveness; while Karlta Zarley, RN, CHTP, will be teaching you the Healing Touch adaptations as well as her ‘remote’ process.
Cindy Palajac - Sacred Hearts, Sacred Hands
By sharing our heart through using our hands we make the world a better place. This talk will follow how Healing Touch started and where it is today. The gift of our hands and how they are used to touch with compassion and caring has impacted the world. This gift of self care to ourselves and facilitating self healing to others is an integral part of Healing Touch.
BREAKOUT SESSIONS
Ann Reeves - Finding the SoulSong of your Heart with Crystal Singing Bowls
Know why you are here on this physical plane? Let’s uncover your SoulSong!!
We’ve all had those uncomfortable life situations that keep replaying, and we ask ourself over and over, “What am I meant to learn so I can move on?” Now is the time to stop guessing. It is so much more peaceful, productive and satisfying to know the lesson instead of guessing the life lesson on which we are meant to work. We carry our life lessons in the frequencies of our chakra.
After several cycles of head-banging repetition, Ann finally acknowledged the information being channeled and learned how to identify the life lesson involved. Extensive experiential knowledge with crystal singing bowls, healing frequencies and various healing modalities provide the basis for linking life lessons, chakra frequencies and energetic and harmonic healing. Understanding these links is Knowing your SoulSong. Discover how your contracted life lessons affect your lens of truth and experience crystal singing bowls during a SoulZipper. The SoulZipper will provide you with the opportunity to change your long-held beliefs into beliefs that aid your spiritual growth.
Angèle Albert Ritchie - Colouring with Intent, a Self-Care Tool (will be presented virtually)
In this 1.5-hour presentation, you will learn how to design your own mandala, from scratch, using a simple but mindful technique. You will be very quickly center, ground and attune and be in the present moment. You will simply be amazed at your end product.
To fully take advantage of the workshop, attendees require the following items:
Susan Meertens - Activating Joy, Vitality and Radiance with Eden Energy Medicine
Access your source of personal strength, renewal and healing with The Eden Energy Method and The Radiant Circuits. Open yourself to Joy, with The Radiant Circuits - one of our energy systems and a natural source of positive energy available to everyone. Radiant Circuits are the primary energies of resilience, exhilaration, falling in love, hope, gratitude, rapture and spiritual joy. During this interactive session, you will learn simple techniques to support your physical and emotional resilience and stability, build stronger connections with others and your higher self, and help you with the flows of unpredictable change of life. As healers we know the importance of grounding, centring and attuning to our energies. Reaching that sublime state to let the energy flow is easier when we feel content with our life.
Jennifer Bolus - Nourishing the Heart and Body
You know what to eat. You have a body that is constantly speaking to you. It’s time to listen to your experiences and trust your body’s wisdom.
Dieting, weight cycling (yo-yo dieting), and the endless pursuit of weight loss to create the perfect body has created a society heavily laden with guilt, shame, disordered eaters, obsession with body image and size, and a sense that the ‘expert’ is outside of us. An externally driven set of head spinning rules of how to nourish ourselves has disconnected us from our innate and intuitive ability to feed ourselves. It can also sadly result in a sort of separation from our body and therefore our intuition and heart cravings which are experienced through our physical being. Fortunately, we can choose a different path, or perhaps our original path which is one of lightness and harmonious relationship with food and body.
In this presentation we will begin the process of inquiry, unlearning, and relearning so that we can reconnect to our intuitive bodies and recreate food freedom. This includes:
As we learn to release the energetic weight of the rules, self-judgment, and anxieties, we can begin to hear with more clarity our internal guiding system and what we are truly hungry for. The ongoing process of removing the mental, emotional, and spiritual distractions of a weight-centric culture is transformational and creative; you can create more space, energy, and time to deeply experience and connect to your body, heart, and spirit. You can eat and move and be in the world with more joy, ease, simplicity, and purpose.
Dr. Salome Bozorgzadeh - Tamarkoz® (Sufi Meditation): A Heart-focused Journey Within
The heart-focused Tamarkoz method is known to be the art of self-knowledge through meditation and concentration. This practice, which is rooted in the Sufi tradition and is unique to the M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism®, is a practical technique used in the path of self-knowledge. As practitioners learn to focus on their heart, they can better understand, discover, and balance not only their physical body but also their spiritual and electromagnetic centers and capabilities. Tamarkoz has been taught at universities and hospitals for many years. In 2020, it was employed in the global “Caring 4 Our Caregivers” initiative, where it was utilized in hospitals to combat healthcare worker burnout during the COVID-19 pandemic. Research with a diverse group of participants has demonstrated that this practice reduces perceived stress, increases positive emotions, and increases daily spiritual experiences regardless of culture, religious, or socio-economic background. This workshop will serve as an introduction to Tamarkoz, and allow you to experience the practice and learn about its benefits and use. Please wear socks and comfortable clothes as this workshop contains meditative postures and movement. If possible, please bring a yoga mat.
Tanya Reynolds - The Power of Your Voice
Tanya Reynolds is a certified career & life coach, a certified organizational change manager and a technology professional with over 23 of corporate experience. Like most people, her career progression came with its own challenges with one significant impact being her loss of ability to communicate, express herself; essentially losing her voice.
In her presentation, Tanya will speak about the emotional and physical effects this experience had on her, on her personal relationships, how she overcame it and how she uses her knowledge and experience to coach women to use their voice in the workplace.Hailey Pinksen - Inspiring a Thriving Culture of Resilience (will be presented virtually)
You know how your subtle whispers of insight become loud brick walls if you aren’t paying attention to the whispers? They might take the form of illness, an accident or high stress, which all have severe long-term consequences. Developing Resilience ensures faster recovery from stress and enhanced job performance. Let us explore the importance of resilience, the impact of resilience deficits and ways to support rebuilding and maintaining resilience, all of which are crucial in ensuring strong and healthy teams.
How we can rebuild and maintain our own resilience so that we can be there to support our team, our organization and our community to thrive? How we can start to transition from resilience during the pandemic to recovery following the pandemic. Not only will companies need to recover in terms of sustainability, expansion, and possibly downsizing but so too do we need to focus on the recovery of our people.
Objective:
Understand the importance of resilience
Start a dialogue with their teams
Come up with a resilience plan
Support building resilient individuals in their organization
Kim Watson and Katrina Graham -
Healing Transformation. Lifelong Journey to the Heart of the Matter.
Maximum In-Person attendance: 30 people
Given the dynamic time we have all experienced in these last two plus years, many of us feel confused, ill-at-ease, and sometimes blocked. Circumstances and exhaustion (physically, mentally, emotionally, & spiritually) may be preventing us from being the healer we need for ourselves. This is undeniably a time of transformation, especially for those of us who are healers. Healers will be experiencing transformation more consciously; learning to stand in two worlds – a human being and a spiritual being. In order to heal others, we need to keep our own vessel filled.
If you have felt the effects of this transformative time, and some days feel in need of a healing, especially from the depths of your heart, then perhaps this presentation is calling out to you. Does it feel like in this busy world of new parameters, precautions, and concerns that you come last, at least on your list? Then come and join Kim and Katrina as we reflect on ‘your path’ and how your own healing is being accomplished. It is not an accident of the symbolism presented today at this conference and would like to explore this further with you. We want to provide you with a space for restorative healing. We will incorporate the power of the heart and the turtle in your transformation, and share new or old ways to support yourself on your path. We will introduce various ideas, approaches and techniques to keep you centered and grounded. Enjoy just being present as you journey to the heart of the matter.
Christina Nienaber-Roberts - Stepping through Your Heart Gate with Sacred Movement
During this experiential workshop, participants will be guided to drop deep into their most innermost Be-ingness, through their own, inner, Heart Gate - to access that which is patiently waiting to be acknowledged. No previous experience of yoga or any movement-, meditation- or energy work- practices is necessary, just an open mind, a yearning heart and curious spirit. Please dress comfortably, in layers, to allow for movement – and possible changes in body temperature. As it can be a very DEEP experience, with a full session usually taking approximately 2 hours, we will allow for some quiet time for integration and/or journaling to ensure that we may re-enter the day from a place of grounded grace. Before dissolving the circle, we may also have some time for sharing of experiences, for those who feel moved to – as we heal and learn for each other’s experiences. After this initial experience, it is generally possible for participants to embrace Sacred Movement as their own self-care practice, if they feel inspired to do so. Self-care at all levels of Be-ing, Guided by our own Innermost Be-ingness, also known as our Sacred/Higher/Authentic Self.
